MOMENTUM TABLE 

3" LIVE EDGE MAPLE MEETS SILVER-BRUSHED STEEL.  GEOMETRIC SIDE PANELS AND IN-LINE LEVELING FEET. 

This table was created as a graduation-from-medical-school present.  We cut a sheet of steel to fit perfectly into the line of the live-edge of the wood, and invisibly secured it from below.  The steel was polished and smoothed until silky and bright.  We made custom leveling feet that fit seamlessly with the slimline legs and allow for uneven surfaces. 

The slab we used for the tabletop was so large and had so much character we wanted to preserve and work with its original shape as much as possible.  You will see a large burl, uneven edges and burned side: we encouraged these qualities of the wood rather than hiding them.  The steel met and matched the wood, creating the rectangular top without slicing the wood into perfectly rectangular boards.
